These are some of Sophie's first crawling maneuvers from early November.

Lower Butte Creek Falls, just a short drive and hike from our house.  The more we explore, the more hidden gems we discover.

Our First Father's Day Family Camping Trip: Butte Creek Falls

Just 30 minutes from our house is a great little camping spot with a short hike to both Upper and lower Butte Creek Falls.  This is the upper and smaller falls, but would make a fantastic swimming hole on a hot summer day.  The water was a little chilly this time around as this is direct snow melt right now.  As you can see, our first choice for a camp site was still under about 8 ft. of snow, so we had to head down to lower elevations.

Hey!  How's it goin'?  Yeah, that's right, I keep my parents up at night.  Milk?  Yeah, I'll take some.  That sounds good right about now and two hours from now and two more hours from then.  It would probably be easier to just leave the diaper off, that way you won't have to keep changing it.

Ahh... It feels good to be home starting our new life with our new family.  Jamie is especially excited because she can sleep on her stomach now.  Sophia doesn't want her to get too used to it yet, so she does her best to keep mommy awake.

After 20 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing, Sophia Lou Krejci joined our family on April 7th, 2008 at 2:11 am.  She weighed 8lbs 8 oz. and was 19 inches long.
Mother and Daughter are both doing very well, just a little tired.  Thanks to Sophia's stubborn head, we passed the midnight mark, which means we get to stay in the Hospital a little longer.  The Silverton Hospital was voted one of the country's top 100 hospitals thanks in part to its Family Birth Center.  We are well taken care of and are enjoying our stay so far.  We should be heading home as a family on Wednesday the 9th to start our new life as a family.  We are curious to see how Wicket reacts to being the #2 attention getter.

Jamie just keeps getting bigger and more beautiful every day.  Our due date is April 11th, but we will probably be a little later than that.  As you can see, Jamie does have a pretty good size belly.  If we have our baby on the 11th it will be around 9 pounds.  If we go beyond our due date, well who knows how big it will be.  That is a lot of work for Jamie, but the key to success is having a good coach.  We have been practicing, doing calisthenics, breathing and sitting in the nursery not really sure of what we should be thinking about.  Stay tuned for the big day.  We are taking a survey: Boy or Girl?

A beautiful weekend at the beach allowed us to get some great shots of the belly.  A recent ultrasound indicated that our baby is about 5 and half pounds.  That means by April 11th (the due date) we will have a nine pounder (yikes!).  I can't image that belly getting any bigger.

A clear and cold day in the Willamette Valley.  Mt. Hood as seen from the farm lands surrounding Silverton, OR.  Days like this are so rare in January that it just forces you go out an get some sun on your face.

Holy cow that's a big belly.  I can't imagine it getting any bigger!  We still have three months left, we'll see if it grows any more (ha, ha).

When you live in Oregon you have to take it when you can get it.  We visited Keith's sister's family in Illinois for Christmas.  Jamie decided to take a little time out and get some sun on her growing belly.  The baby was kicking with delight.
